Our story, our mission
Discover the heart behind Our Family Feeds, a nonprofit dedicated to nourishing bodies, minds, and souls in DeSoto, Texas. We're building a brighter future, one meal and one mentorship at a time.

Our heartfelt beginning
At Our Family Feeds, we understand that nourishment goes far beyond just food. We are dedicated to feeding the body, mind, and soul. Our after-school meal programs ensure no child goes home hungry, providing essential nutrition.
But we take it a step further. We empower young lives through hands-on learning opportunities, connecting kids with real-world skills—from doctors and electricians to mechanics and community mentors. Our mission is clear: prepare children for life, keep them off the streets, and create pathways to brighter futures. Through this work, we strengthen families, uplift neighborhoods, and spark lasting prosperity in our community.

Our daily drive and impact
Every day, Our Family Feeds is driven by the goal of ensuring no child goes a day without eating a healthy meal. We strive to increase opportunities in the workforce for our youth and decrease the number of young people involved in the juvenile justice system.
We believe that by providing consistent nourishment and valuable life skills, we can create a powerful ripple effect, leading to a healthier, more educated, and more engaged community in DeSoto, Texas.

Our programs and activities
Our Family Feeds organizes a variety of programs to support our community members. Our core activities include after-school feeding programs, which provide nutritious meals to children when school is out.
Additionally, we offer mentorship and transportation services for youth, connecting them with positive role models and ensuring they can access enriching opportunities. We also extend our care to seniors, providing essential transportation for doctor's visits to ensure their well-being.
"The care and dedication at Our Family Feeds are truly inspiring. My children not only get healthy meals but also learn valuable life skills that prepare them for the future."
